Biography


Professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis and head of the orthopaedic trauma department at the Mongi Slim Hospital of Tunis. I am a graduate of the University of Elmanar in Tunis and I obtained my medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine. I did four years of orthopaedic training at the same university from July 1995 to November 1998, then in France from November 1998 to October 1999 as a resident physician in the orthopaedic surgery unit directed by Pr. Daniel Goutallier at the Henri Mondor University Hospital, Creteil, France. I completed my training at the Arago Clinic in Paris and at the Purpan Hospital in Toulouse, France. From 2000 to 2005: Orthopaedic surgeon at Charles Nicolle Hospital and academic assistant at the Faculty of Medicine in Tunis. From 2005 to 2013: Associate Academic Professor at Charles Nicolle Hospital. Since 2013, I am professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis and head of the orthopaedic department. I am a member of the board of directors (secretary general) of the Tunisian Society of Orthopaedic Surgery (SOTCOT), a member of the board of directors and a founding member of the Tunisian Society of Orthopaedic Research and editor-in-chief of the Tunisian Orthopaedic Journal. I am a member of AO Trauma since 2009 and a board member and founding member of the Tunisian chapter of AO Trauma. I am a member of AO Spine Foundation since 2010 and a member of NASS (North American Spine Society) from 2011 to 2012. As a general orthopaedic surgeon, I am currently focusing my interest on hip and knee arthroplasty and adult spine surgery.
